vitrail n°10 - "Faith & Charity" - In the nave is a window designed to show to sides of the Christian character, Faith and Charity , as suggested by the figures of the Virgin Mary and Dorcas,(an early pious Christian woman who was raised from the dead by Saint Peter and noted for her good works; she is sometimes called Tabitha). The upper portion displays Christ and again the Virgin Mary with the infant Jesus. The window was designed by Henry Holiday of London, after a design by Edward Burne-Jones, a Pre-Raphaelite painter and close associate of William Morris. |
